News reaching me said there has been a bomb blast at Rumuokoro area of Port Harcourt, the Rivers State capital. Two persons are believed to have died.

Update: Two persons are believed to have died in an explosion in a commercial bus at Rumuokoro roundabout in Port Harcourt, the Rivers State capital on Thursday morning.
The bus, painted in Rivers State commercial colours, was allegedly said to be conveying arms to an undisclosed destination when it exploded.
Some reports said the 10-seater bus was conveying commuters to an undisclosed destination when it exploded.
Witnesses said the bus reportedly broke down and was being pushed off the road when it exploded.
The driver and a passerby reportedly died while three persons were injured.
The bus was also totally wrecked by the blast, which shook nearby buildings.
Rivers State Commissioner of Police, Mohammed Indabawa, confirmed the development, saying two people died in the blast.
The spokesman for the National Emergency Management Agency, Yushau Shauibu, confirmed the development in an SMS to PUNCH on Thursday morning.
However, Rivers State Governor, Rotimi Amaechi, debunked insinuations that it was a bomb attack.
He said on Channels Television that the suspected robbers had AK-47 rifles and dynamite in their possession. He said they were smoking when a flame ignited the explosives, leading to the explosion.
He said none of the occupants died but that those inured were rushed to the hospital.
Indabawa said the bus was conveying robbers to an operation when it exploded.
Amaechi also inspected the scene of the blast.
